Three premieres at Audi

Audi presents the Q8 Concept study at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit (January 22nd, 2017), thus providing an outlook on a future large SUV in coupé style à la BMW X6. At the same time, the brand celebrates the world premiere of the SQ5 TFSI and presents the new A5 convertible to the public for the first time.

Audi Q8 Concept. The Audi Q8 Concept combines typical SUV space with the lines of a coupé. The car manufacturer is opening up a new segment for the luxury class. At the same time, the brand gives an outlook on its future design language with the study. The operating concept is based on large touchscreens. For propulsion, the plug-in hybrid provides 330 kW / 449 hp system output and 700 Newton meters of torque for the Quattro all-wheel drive. The concept car is the basis for a series model that Audi will bring onto the market in 2018.

With the SQ5 TFSI, the sportiest variant of the Q5 series, has its world premiere at the Detroit Motor Show. The turbocharged three-liter V6 engine has an output of 260 kW / 354 hp and delivers 500 Nm of torque at just 1370 rpm. The top model sprints from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.4 seconds. The optional sport differential, which actively distributes the torque between the rear wheels, and the optional dynamic steering with variable ratio, increase agility. Both components are ??? and the engine, Tiptronic and the standard damper control ?? into the driving dynamics system? Drive select ?? involved. Both in the exterior and the interior, the SQ5 TFSI sets itself apart from the basic model with numerous S-specific design features and extended standard equipment. These include sports seats in Alcantara / leather, LED headlights, and 20-inch cast-aluminum wheels in a 5-twin-spoke star design. The Audi SQ5 TFSI will be available from German dealerships from mid-2017.

Audi A5 Cabriolet. Audi is completing the A5 family with the A5 Cabriolet. The soft top is said to impress with excellent aeroacoustics and has a new convenience opening: a short pull on the switch is enough to open or close the soft top fully automatically ?? even while driving up to 50 km / h. New engines with a power range of 190 hp in the 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TFSI to 354 hp in the 3.0 TFSI of the Audi S5 provide propulsion. The market launch is in March.
